Cherry Growers is a fruit processing plant located in Grawn, Michigan about nine miles southwest of Traverse City on US 31. Our positions include sorting, grading, processing and packing cherries and other fruit products. We also hire individuals to drive forklift, sanitize, label product and many other production related positions. During Cherry Pack our employees work 10-hour shifts, six days a week starting in early July and running from four to six weeks depending on the harvest in a given year. Our hours of operation vary from year to year also depending on crop size.

Cherry Growers hires hundreds of seasonal workers for "Cherry Pack" every year. We often need additional workers on fairly short notice depending on harvest size. In the past we have had a very successful experience and have relied on migrant workers to supplement our local workforce. It is our hope that we will continue with this exceptional relationship in the future.

Benefits offered include unemployment compensation insurance and workers' compensation insurance. Due to our manufacturing environment, Cherry Growers requires that their workers be at least 18 years of age. We pay an hourly rate usually three tiered and depends on the number of years worked at Cherry Growers. We guarantee to pay the minimum wage for all our positions. Our processing plant does not offer housing but some of the member growers do have migrant camps.
