We have been in the farming business for 28 years. We currently have 90 acres of celery for harvesting. Our season begins approximately May 1st and runs through October 31st. We hire 8 workers from start to finish. Our employees perform duties such as general labor, planting and harvesting. The season begins with planting from May 1st until the first or second week of July. Harvesting begins approximately July 23rd through October 31st. Most recent average wages earned by workers were equal to $7.50 hourly, plus a 40¢ incentive/bonus at the end of the year for having stayed from beginning to end. We do not provide housing. We do offer unemployment insurance benefits and workers' compensation.
