Hart, Michigan Oceana County Clark Farms has been in the farming business since 1971. Asparagus
and hay are primarily grown. Season: The season usually runs from early May to late June. Wages: Workers are paid by the pound (piece rate), increasing 1¢ per pound each week, being careful not to fall below minimum wage. Housing: approved housing is provided. Clark Farms has a nice licensed duplex for two families (16 people total) and additional housing is rented from a neighbor. All housing requires workers to pay utilities. Clark Farms carry Worker's Compensation Insurance; however they are not subject to pay unemployment benefits.
